Growth Rooms, Warm Rooms & Incubator RoomsThese precision research rooms are designed for optimum performance and value in the most demanding applications. They are designed to provide optimum uniformity throughout the growing area. This means you get tighter control for isolating the effects of experiment variables, plus the economy of higher chamber utilization. This performance comes from years of engineering refinement and the unique combination of Airmont premium performance features, including: Shielded Sensor Enclosures Shielded sensors provides more responsive and accurate temperature readings and tighter control, unaffected by lighting. The enclosures also provide physical protection from damage. Solid State Hot Gas Bypass This system delivers constant refrigerant flow with modulation of hot gas, allowing compressors to run at a constant load. This provides the most precise control, improves efficiency, and eliminates the maintenance concerns typical with on/off cycling type controls. Interior Surfaces Interior surfaces of our plant growth rooms can be lined with mirror finish polished metal panels to promote optimum uniformity of light throughout the growing area. While stainless steel is available, our standard is painted aluminum, since it provides good durability, superior reflectivity, and lower overall cost. These Rooms will provide chamber temperature uniformity within ±0.5°C of setpoint throughout the operating range of 4°C to 40°C. Our growth Rooms come in a variety of standard sizes. Walk-in rooms are designed to meet your particular requirements. The heating system is electric. The air is passed over fast response low watt density resistance heaters. The combination of airflow, instrument response and these fast reacting heaters give very accurate and straight line control of temperatures. These heaters insure a long reliable life with no down time while giving very accurate control. A separate SCR controls these heaters to provide the right amount of heat for the application.
Standard Design Features: Room Construction Standard wall, ceiling and floor panels shall be 11-1/2", 23", 34-1/2" and 46" in width and shall be interchangeable with the like panels. Standard heights of walk-ins with floors shall be 8'-5", 9'-5" and 10'-5". Corner panels shall be 90 degree angles with 12" exterior horizontal measurements. Available standard heights without floors, with PVC Screeds are 8'-1", 8'-5", 9'-1", 9'-5", 10'-1", 10'-5". Panels shall consist of "foamed-in-place" urethane insulation sandwiched between interior and exterior metal "skin" which has been die-formed and gauged for uniformity in size. Edges of panels shall be "foamed-in-place" tongue and groove with locking facilities "foamed-in-place" at time of fabrication. Floor Construction: A. Floor Type: Panels shall be fabricated with 16 gauge stainless steel, designed to readily withstand uniformity-distributed loads of 600 lbs. Per square foot. B. Floorless: Provide thermally effective PVC floor screeds. Screeds will be designed to hug floor surface and terminated in a coved radius at both interior and exterior floor joint, Flat-Bottomed Walls are also available and will sit directly on the floor surface. SIZES: Standard and custom from small step-ins to large drive-ins; modular design allows customer to determine the best fit. Conditioning Equipment Airmont's condensing units are designed and manufactured to fit your needs. Condensing units for warm rooms will be single stage and can be supplied in either air cooled or water cooled. We use heavy duty industrial semi-hermetic or hermetic compressors for maximum reliability. Airmont offers internal evaporator/blower or remote air handling systems. All systems will utilize solid state proportional control valves to precisely control the room temperature. Redundant conditioning systems with automatic switchover can be supplied for critical applications. Controls At each room is a direct digital controller to maintain and monitor temperature (and optional humidity). Output relays control the blower (usually kept on except for maintenance, safety or defrost) and the liquid line solenoid valve for system on/off and low temperature safety. Actual temperature regulation is accomplished by precisely modulating the refrigeration system and electric heat. Operating parameters are programmed into the controller. Whether connected or not to the network, each controller acts to maintain the set point of the connected coolers.
